USER NOTES:
This data is provided 'as is'. GeoPlan relied on the integrity
of the original data layer's topology
This data is provided 'as is' by GeoPlan and is complete to our
knowledge.
GeoPlan relied on the integrity of the attribute information within
the original data.
Cambridge Systematics procured January 2005 InfoUSA data for
the entire state of Florida on behalf of the Florida Department of
Transportation (FDOT) Systems Planning Office. The data were
received by Cambridge Systematics on January 31, 2005 and
includes 683,573 records.

The Primary SIC Code (Field # 39) is given in 6 digits. InfoUSA
refines the standard 4 digit SIC code into 6 digits for finer grained
classification. The NAICS Code (Field # 54) is given in 8 digits.
Once again InfoUSA refines the standard 6 digit NAICS code
into 8 digits for finer grained classification. The NAICS has no
sector for Nonclassifiable Establishments (SIC Code 999) and
hence these are left blank in the database. Each SIC and NAICS
code has the description in the next column. Instances where more
than one SIC code is present indicates that the establishment has
multiple lines of business. For example, a gas station will only have
one SIC code it that is the only business of the gas station. If it is
also a convenience store then it will have two SIC codes,
gas station, and convenience store. If a car wash is also present
then it will have three SIC codes, gas, convenience, and car wash.
A code book for the various fields is given in Appendix A.

As part of the data check, the 2 and 3 digit SIC codes were
extracted from the data to review the distribution of employment
by District and County. The following four employment categories
were used to obtain the distribution of employment by place of work:
Manufacturing Employment (SIC Code 20 to 51)
Other Industrial Employment (SIC Code 01 to 19)
Commercial Employment (SIC Code 52 to 59)
	Service Employment (SIC Code 60 to 67, 70 to 89, and 99)

WARNING!! DO NOT USE THIS INFORMATION AFTER
12 MONTHS FROM PRODUCTION DATE

Our Business Database changes by over 40% in just one year.
New companies start up, others go out of business, and many
move or change their phone number. And key executive names
can change even faster. Using this product after the Warning
Date may result in wasted time and effort, since much of the
information will be out of date. Please call us for an updated product.

"The data was created to serve as base information for use in GIS
systems for a variety of planning and analytical purposes."

This data is provided 'as is' and its horizontal positional accuracy

A note about data scale:

Scale is an important factor in data usage. Certain scale datasets
are not suitable for some project, analysis, or modeling purposes.
Please be sure you are using the best available data.

1:24000 scale datasets are recommended for projects that are at the
county level.
1:24000 data should NOT be used for high accuracy base mapping such
as property parcel boundaries.
1:100000 scale datasets are recommended for projects that are at the
multi-county or regional level.
1:125000 scale datasets are recommended for projects that are at the
regional or state level or larger.

Vector datasets with no defined scale or accuracy should be
considered suspect. Make sure you are familiar with your data
before using it for projects or analysis. Every effort has been
made to supply the user with data documentation. For additional
information, see the References section and the Data Source Contact
section of this documentation. For more information regarding
scale and accuracy, see our webpage at:

DATA LINEAGE SUMMARY:
InfoUSA, Inc. created and last updated the tabular data for the
entire state of Florida in January of 2005.
Process Date: 20050101

Cambridge Systematics procured January 2005 InfoUSA data for the entire state of Florida on behalf of the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Systems Planning Office. The data were received by Cambridge Systematics on January 31, 2005 in the following format. Table 1. Process Date: 20050125
GeoPlan received this dataset from Cambridge Systematics in 2006. The dataset was in shapefile format, and was in the following projection: GEOGCS["GCS_Assumed_Geographic_1", DATUM["D_North_American_1927", SPHEROID["Clarke_1866",6378206.4,294.9786982]], PRIMEM["Greenwich",0.0], UNIT["Degree",0.0174532925199433]] The dataset was projected to FGDL Albers HPGN. The table was then restructured, as represented below.
